The last full week of February is about over. March will begin on Tuesday, and the promise of warmer days is ahead, for everyone. It’s been nice here in the sunny South, but I know that some other parts of the country are still dealing with Old Man Winter. It even snowed in Los Angeles today! It turns out that my problems from last week are digestive issues. Nothing major, but something I need to keep on top of.
Weekend Wanderings
The sun is shining and the temperatures are rising here in the sunny South. Winter’s icy grip has loosened, although there’s still a good chance that we’ll have one more go-round with the cold. I had a bit of a scare yesterday, and spent the afternoon at the hospital getting checked out. I was having severe pains in my upper side, and they wanted to makes sure my heart was not the problem. The old ticker is in good shape (whew), so I have to go to my family doctor Monday to see if we can figure out what is going on. I’m thinking it might be stress, because there’s a lot of stuff going on right now. We’ll see.
Weekend Wanderings
This has been a momentous week. Egypt has seen it’s leader for the past 30 years leave. Hopefully democracy will win out in the days ahead. My junior varsity girls wrapped up the season on Friday and finished with a record of 10 wins and 8 losses. It was one of the most enjoyable seasons in quite a while. It’s also been a stressful week. There’s a lot of stuff going on right now and it’s not an easy time.
Weekend Wanderings
A lot has been going on this week. There’s been protests in the streets in Egypt, Tunisia, Yemen, and a number of other countries in the Middle East/North Africa. Evidently the Italians want to get in on the action. I heard today that there are protests demanding the resignation of the Italian president. I wonder who’s next.
Basketball season is winding down. We have one week left in the regular season, and then the state playoffs begin. It’s almost time for the spring sports season, although with the rain we’ve been having, the teams may be spending a lot of time indoors.
Here is the good stuff:

Is Alan Knox a wolf in sheep’s clothing?
Keith Giles on remembering the poor.
I hope you have a great week.
Weekend Wanderings
It’s been an interesting week. It seems that the Middle East and parts of Africa are about ready to explode. It remains to be seen how all this is going to shake out, and hopefully the U.S. government will come down on the right side of freedom in that region. My own week was a bit frustrating. I’m learning that I can’t fix the kids that I work with, that the only thing I can do is love them and leave the rest in God’s hands. That’s hard for me to do, because I want to see results. I guess that’s where trust comes in. 🙂
So anyway, here are the links for the week:

Weekend Wanderings
Last week saw normal weather make another appearance here in the sunny South. It was nice to be able to spend some time outside. This weekend has been a busy one, with a ball game on Friday, and two games yesterday. Today we celebrated Josh‘s 28th birthday. I don’t know how he can be that old.
Weekend Wanderings
This has been an interesting week. It snowed here in the sunny South ( about 4-5 inches), and we were off school for three days. On Thursday we had a 3 hour delay, and Friday was a teacher work day. It was nice being off, but we will have to make up the days, so some of the regular holidays will be spent in class. Oh well.
Weekend Wanderings
My schedule has been a lot more busy the last couple of months. It’s the middle of basketball season, and we have a game every Friday. I had been pushing to post TGIF every Friday, and up until a couple of weeks ago, I was successful. Of course, that sometimes meant finishing the post just before midnight on Friday. That was getting to be a bit much, so I decided to replace TGIF with Weekend Wanderings. It may appear on a Friday, it may show up on a Saturday, it may even surface on Sunday. Sometime during the weekend, I will share links to some of the best blog posts I have read through the week.
TGIF
This has been a busy week. Basketball season began this week. My team has started slowly, but there is a lot of potential for a really good season. We’ll see. It’s still frigid here in the sunny South, and it looks like it’s not going to warm up anytime soon.
TGIF
It’s been an unusually chilly week here in the sunny South, with lows dipping down into the twenties. We had a great time last weekend visiting Jan’s sister and her family in West Virginia. It was nice to get together with her family. Jan and I went to our town’s Christmas parade tonight. It’s the first time we’ve been able to go in the fifteen years that we’ve been here. It was a good parade, and the downtown area looks nice all lit up.
